   9 MrBayes is a program for the Bayesian estimation of
  10 phylogeny. Bayesian inference of phylogeny is based upon a quantity
  11 called the posterior probability distribution of trees, which is the
  12 probability of a tree conditioned on the observations. The
  13 conditioning is accomplished using Bayes's theorem. The posterior
  14 probability distribution of trees is impossible to calculate
  15 analytically; instead, MrBayes uses a simulation technique called
  16 Markov chain Monte Carlo (or MCMC) to approximate the posterior
  17 probabilities of trees.
