Switch to AppCompat versions of TextView and CheckBox.
Since we are using AppCompat library it can help us do a lot of support things like swapping widgets when we inflate a layout, however when we extend or construct an EditText, Checkbox, etc in java code we have to explicitly extend the AppCompatTextView, AppCompatCheckBox, etc.
