external/README

   1 This directory is for packages which are external
   2 AND create binaries in different directories, e.g.
   3 workbench/libs/openurl which creates a library,
   4 a preferences editor and a command.

   6 Exceptions:
   7 * Larger packages which aren't needed by the core
   8   should go to trunk/contrib.
   9 * if only some additional headers/docs/catalogs/tests
  10   are created or copied the packages can stay in an
  11   appropriate directory like workbench/libs.
