24
Capo
2nd fret (original key D major)

28 C x32013 in the intro,otherwise x32010
29 F9 xx3213 in the intro, otherwise normal F
37
It should be mentioned that Dylan isn't always dead certain about
38 neither how long to strum F before
“all the friends I ever had are
39 gone
”, nor about now to play the descending riff. But hey, he's an
40 artist, man, you gotta give him that.

41
If your pinky is strong enough, I'd suggest to play the figure in the
42 second line as a half-barre on the eight fret with the middle finger on the
43 ninth, then let that slide down to form the basis of the
"D-shape" chord on
44 the fifth fret, with the rest of the strings fingered with the ring- and little
45 fingers. That way, it's possible to play it quickly and smoothly. At least
46 that's how I play it.

89 All the friends I ever had are gone.
91 Delia's dear ol' mother took a trip out West
92 When she returned, little Delia'd gone to rest.
93 All the friends I ever had are gone.
95 Delia's Daddy weeped, Delia's momma moaned
96 Wouldn't have been so bad if the poor girl died at home.
97 All the friends I ever had are gone.
99 Curtis's looking high, Curtis's looking low
100 He shot poor Delia down with a cruel forty-four.
101 All the friends I ever had are gone.
103 High upon the housetops, high as I can see
104 Looking for them rounders, looking out for me.
105 All the friends I ever had are gone
107 Men in Atlanta, trying to pass for white
108 Delia's in the graveyard, boys, six feet out of sight.
109 All the friends I ever had are gone.
111 Judge says to Curtis,
"What's this noise about?
"
112 "All about them rounders, Judge, tryin' to cut me out.
"
113 All the friends I ever had are gone.
115 Curtis said to the judge
"What might be my fine?
"
116 Judge says,
"Poor boy, you got ninety-nine.

117 All the friends I ever had are gone.
119 Curtis' in the jailhouse, drinking from an old tin cup
120 Delia's in the graveyard, she ain't gettin' up.
121 All the friends I ever had are gone.
123 Delia, oh Delia, how can it be?
124 You loved all them rounders, never did love me.
125 All the friends I ever had are gone.
127 Delia, oh Delia, how could it be?
128 You wanted all them rounders, never had time for me.
