  11 Description: Graphic Interface program for Particle Image Velocimetry
  12  Gpiv is a graphic program using the the GTK/GNOME libraries for
  13  Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV). The program gives a quick overview
  14  of the parameter settings of the processes and allows to change them
  15  easely, running the processes, individually or in a chain,
  16  visualizes and displays the results. The processes that may be
  17  invoked by Gpiv are:

  19  Image evaluation or interrogation, resulting into estimators of particle
  20  image displacements.

  22  Data validation to test on outliers, peak-locking effect and
  23  velocity gradients over the interrogation area's.

  25  Data post-processing: data manipulation,spatial and time scaling to
  26  obtain a velocity field from the PIV data, calculation of spatial
  27  averages, vorticity and strain.
