  11 Description: Graphic User Interface program for Particle Image Velocimetry
  12  Gpiv is a Graphic User Interface program using the GTK/GNOME
  13  libraries for Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV). The program gives a
  14  quick overview of the parameter settings of the processes and allows
  15  to change them easely, running the processes, individually or all at
  16  once, visualizes and displays the results. The processes that may be
  17  invoked by Gpiv are:

  19  Image recording with a IEEE1394 (IIDC-compliant) CCD) camera. This
  20  includes the trigerring of the camera with the lasers by means of
  21  RealTimeLinux and RTAI.

  23  Image evaluation or interrogation, resulting into estimators of particle
  24  image displacements.

  26  Data validation to test on outliers, peak-locking effect and
  27  velocity gradients over the interrogation area's.

  29  Data post-processing: data manipulation,spatial and time scaling to
  30  obtain a velocity field from the PIV data, calculation of spatial
  31  averages, vorticity and strain.
