   8       The RAR archiver is distributed as try before you buy. This means:

  10    1. All copyrights to RAR are exclusively owned by the author
  11       - Eugene Roshal.

  13    2. Anyone may use this software during a test period of 40
  14       days. Following this test period of 40 days or less,
  15       if you wish to continue to use RAR, you must register.

  17    3. There are 4 basic types of licenses issued for RAR, these are:
  18
  19       a.  A single computer usage license. The user purchases one license
  20           to use the RAR archiver on one computer.
  21
  22       b.  A multiple usage license. The user purchases a number of usage
  23           licenses for use, by the purchaser, the purchaser's employees or
  24           accredited agents, on the same number of computers.

  26           The number of licenses in network environment must not be less
  27           than the maximum possible amount of simultaneous users.

  29       c.  A SITE usage license. The user purchases a single usage license,
  30           authorising the use of RAR, by the purchaser, the purchaser's
  31           employees or accredited agents, on an unlimited number of computers
  32           at the same physical site location. This site location would
  33           normally be defined as a single building, but could be considered
  34           to be a number of buildings within the same, general, geographical
  35           location, such as an industrial estate or small town.

  37       d.  A CORPORATE, NATIONAL or INTERNATIONAL usage license. The user
  38           purchases a single usage license, authorising the use of RAR, by
  39           the purchaser, the purchaser's employees or accredited agents, on
  40           an unlimited number of computers, regardless of location, but
  41           owned or under the control of the purchaser.

  43       Once registered, the user is granted a non-exclusive license to use
  44       RAR on as many computers as defined by the licensing terms above
  45       according to the number of licenses purchased, for any legal purpose.
  46       The registered RAR software may not be rented or leased, but may be
  47       permanently transferred, in it's entirety, if the person receiving it
  48       agrees to the terms of this license. If the software is an update,
  49       the transfer must include the update and all previous versions.

  51    4. The RAR/WinRAR unregistered trial version may be freely distributed,
  52       with exceptions noted below, provided the distribution package is not
  53       modified in any way.

  55       a.  No person or company may distribute separate parts of the package
  56           with the exception of the UnRAR components, without written
  57           permission of the copyright owner.

  59       b.  The RAR/WinRAR unregistered trial version may not be distributed
  60           inside of any other software package without written permission
  61           of the copyright owner.

  63       c.  Hacks/cracks, keys or key generators may not be included on the
  64           same distribution.

  66    5. To register you must buy RAR. See order.htm for details.

  68    6. THE RAR ARCHIVER IS DISTRIBUTED "AS IS". NO WARRANTY OF ANY
  69       KIND IS EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED. YOU USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
  70       NEITHER THE AUTHOR NOR THE AGENTS OF THE AUTHOR WILL BE LIABLE
  71       FOR DATA LOSS, DAMAGES, LOSS OF PROFITS OR ANY OTHER KIND OF LOSS
  72       WHILE USING OR MISUSING THIS SOFTWARE.

  74    7. There are no additional license fees, apart from the cost of
  75       registration, associated with the creation and distribution of RAR
  76       archives, volumes, self-extracting archives or self-extracting
  77       volumes. Legally registered owners may use their copies of
  78       RAR/WinRAR to produce archives and self-extracting archives and
  79       to distribute those archives free of any additional RAR royalties.

  81    8. You may not use, copy, emulate, clone, rent, lease, sell, modify,
  82       decompile, disassemble, otherwise reverse engineer, or transfer
  83       the licensed program, or any subset of the licensed program, except
  84       as provided for in this agreement. Any such unauthorized use shall
  85       result in immediate and automatic termination of this license and
  86       may result in criminal and/or civil prosecution.

  88       Neither RAR binary code, WinRAR binary code, UnRAR source or UnRAR
  89       binary code may be used or reverse engineered to re-create the RAR
  90       compression algorithm, which is proprietary, without written
  91       permission of the author.

  93       RAR and WinRAR keyfiles may not be distributed, except as stated
  94       in item 3) above, outside of the area of legal control of the
  95       person or persons who purchased the original license, without
  96       written permission of the copyright holder.

  98       All rights not expressly granted here are reserved by Eugene Roshal.

 100    9. Installing and using RAR/WinRAR signifies acceptance of these terms
 101       and conditions of the license.

 103   10. If you do not agree with the terms of this license you must
 104       remove RAR/WinRAR files from your storage devices and cease to
 105       use the product.
