   6 GNOME stands for GNU Network Object Model Environment.  The GNOME
   7 project intends to build a complete, user-friendly desktop based
   8 entirely on free software.  GNOME is part of the GNU project, and
   9 GNOME is part of the OpenSource(tm) movement.  The desktop will
  10 consist of small utilities and larger applications which share a
  11 consistent look and feel.  GNOME uses GTK+ as the GUI toolkit for
  12 all GNOME-compliant applications.
