   1 This package defines macros \includeversion{NAME} and
   2 \excludeversion{NAME}, each of which defines an environment NAME whose
   3 text is to be included or excluded from compilation.  Although the
   4 command syntax is very similar to that of comment, comment.sty is to
   5 be preferred to version.sty for documents where significant chunks of
   6 text may be excluded.
