  47 function suspends execution of the calling process until either the
  48 number of seconds specified by

  50 have elapsed or a signal is delivered to the calling process and its
  51 action is to invoke a signal-catching function or to terminate the
  52 process.
  53 The suspension time may be longer than requested due to the
  54 scheduling of other activity by the system.
