   3 <p>A dataset is a collection of data used to create a question
   4    (such as a calculated question), where it is inserted in
   5    place of a variable within the question.</p>

   7 <p>You can create a "<i>private</i>" dataset for a specific question,
   8    or a "<i>reusable</i>" dataset that can be used within all
   9    questions within a category.</p>

  11 <p>When creating a question that uses datasets, you'll be prompted
  12    with two screens.  </p>

  14 <p>The first screen allows you to assign a particular dataset to be
  15    substituted for each variable.</p>

  17 <p>The second screen allows you to add and remove sets of numbers in
  18    the dataset.  The numbers used for individual questions presented
  19    to students will be selected from this set.</p>
