   3 <p>When a person is subscribed to a forum it means that
   4 they will be sent email copies of every post in that forum
   5 (posts are sent about <?php echo $CFG->maxeditingtime/60 ?> minutes
   6 after the post was first written).</p>

   8 <p>People can usually choose whether or not they want to be
   9 subscribed to each forum.</p>

  11 <p>However, if a teacher forces subscription on a particular forum
  12 then this choice is taken away and everyone in the class will get
  13 email copies.</p>

  15 <p>This is especially useful in the News forum and in forums
  16 towards the beginning of the course (before everyone has
  17 worked out that they can subscribe to these emails themselves).</p>
