   1 <h1>Agreement of Assessments</h1>

   3 <p>A workshop assignment can have either of these characteristics:

   6 <li>In the submission and assessment phase the students see the
   7     assessments made by other students. There is no feedback
   8     from the students who submitted the work to the students who made
   9     the assessment.  That is, there is only one way feedback between
  10     peers on any one piece of work.</li>

  12 <li>In the submission and assessment phase the students see the
  13     assessments made by other students and they are allowed to comment
  14     on these    assessments. They may agree or disagree with the (peer) assessment.
  15     If they agree with the assessment then the assessment stands and is
  16     used in the final calculations when determining the peer grade given to
  17     the particular piece of work. If, however, they do not agree with an
  18     assessment the student who made the assessment is given an
  19     opportunity to revise it. The revise/disagree loop can continue until
  20     either agreement is reached or the deadline is reached. An assessment
  21     which is still in &quot;dispute&quot; when the deadline is reached
  22     is not used in the final grades. This gives two way feedback
  23     between peers on each piece of work.</li>

  25 <p>If the second method of working is chosen there is the option of switching off the display
  26     of grades. That is, if this &quot;hide grades&quot; option is exercised, only the comments
  27     in the assessment are shown to the student who work is being assessed.
  28     The grades are shown only after agreement has been reached (on the
  29     comments alone). Note that this option only effective when agreement on
  30     assessments is required.
