   5          <h2>Foundation</h2>
   6          <p>The foundation builds the base of our organizational structure.
   7            The major building block is the charter which is currently being
   8            prepared. We will discuss the charter on the OpenXPKI users
   9            mailing list. The major management unit of the foundation is
  10            the board as defined by the charter. The foundation forms a full
  11            democratic management approach for an Open Source community.
  12            If you have any comments about this feel free to start a
  13            discussion on our users list.

  15          <p>We forked away from OpenCA because of the several problems with
  16            organization and management of the project. We created a formal body
  17            around the new project to avoid such problems in the future.
  18            The foundation is not registered today and thus it is not a
  19            registered legal entity. We only will do so if this is required
  20            to protect the project.

  22          <p>As of today there are three major documents:</p>
