  30 <title><guilabel>Launch Feedback</guilabel></title>

  32 <para>Sometimes it is reassuring to know that your computer didn't just
  33 ignore your command, and something is happening behind the scenes.  In
  34 this module you can configure visible feedback to help you know if you
  35 really hit that icon or not.</para>

  37 <para>The traditional way to indicate that your computer is busy is to
  38 modify the cursor, and you can turn this on by choosing a
  39 <guilabel>Busy Cursor</guilabel>.</para>

  41 <para>With this option enabled, your cursor will have an icon attached
  42 to it for a short time, when a new application is being launched.  You
  43 can configure how long this icon is displayed beside your cursor with the
  44 <guilabel>Startup indication timeout:</guilabel> spinbox.  The
  45 default is 30 seconds.</para>

  47 <para>There are several variations of busy cursor available, including
  48 a <guilabel>Blinking Cursor</guilabel>, a <guilabel>Bouncing Cursor</guilabel>
  49 or a <guilabel>Passive Busy Cursor</guilabel> icon with no animation.</para>

  51 <para>Traditional &kde; launch notification has taken another form,
  52 which you can also enable and disable here.  Normally when you start an
  53 application, it gets an immediate entry in the taskbar, with the icon
  54 replaced by a spinning hourglass to let you know something is
  55 happening.  You can toggle this behavior on and off with the
  56 <guilabel>Enable taskbar notification</guilabel> checkbox, and when it's
  57 enabled, you can set a time in the <guilabel>Startup indication timeout
  58 :</guilabel> spinbox.</para>

  60 <para>Not all applications that you start will eventually show a
  61 window, or an entry in the taskbar.  Some of them, for example, are
  62 docked into the &kde; system tray. Alternatively, it might be that you
  63 sent it off to a different virtual desktop, and <guilabel>Show windows
  64 from all desktops</guilabel> is unchecked in the &kcontrolcenter; module
  65 <guimenuitem>Taskbar</guimenuitem>.  Setting a timeout ensures that,
  66 even in these cases, you can still get launch feedback, but also that
  67 it will go away when the job is done.</para>
