8 <para>This parameters controls how printer status information is
9 interpreted on your system. It also affects the default values for
10 the <parameter moreinfo="none">print command</parameter>, <parameter
11 moreinfo="none">lpq command</parameter>, <parameter
12 moreinfo="none">lppause command </parameter>, <parameter
13 moreinfo="none">lpresume command</parameter>, and <parameter
14 moreinfo="none">lprm command</parameter> if specified in the
15 [global] section.</para>
17 <para>Currently nine printing styles are supported. They are
18 <constant>BSD</constant>, <constant>AIX</constant>,
19 <constant>LPRNG</constant>, <constant>PLP</constant>,
20 <constant>SYSV</constant>, <constant>HPUX</constant>,
21 <constant>QNX</constant>, <constant>SOFTQ</constant>,
22 <constant>CUPS</constant> and <constant>IPRINT</constant>.</para>
24 <para>Be aware that CUPS and IPRINT are only available if the CUPS
25 development library was available at the time Samba was compiled
28 <para>To see what the defaults are for the other print
29 commands when using the various options use the <citerefentry><refentrytitle>testparm</refentrytitle>

32 <para>This option can be set on a per printer basis. Please be
33 aware however, that you must place any of the various printing
34 commands (e.g. print command, lpq command, etc...) after defining
35 the value for the <parameter>printing</parameter> option since it will
36 reset the printing commands to default values.</para>
