   5 We are happy to announce the launch of our [translation
   6 platform](https://translate.tails.boum.org/).

   8 Tails is an out-of-the-box tool that aims at helping people to preserve
   9 their privacy and anonymity online. It comes with a [website &
  10 documentation](https://tails.boum.org) that is currently translated into
  11 6 languages besides English: Farsi, French, German, Italian, Portuguese
  12 and Spanish. To help more users at risk around the world to understand
  13 and use Tails, updating and translating the documentation into more
  14 languages is welcome and needed.

  16 This is why we have put enormous effort into setting up an easier way to
  17 translate the documentation: welcome our new [translation
  18 platform](https://translate.tails.boum.org/). After [creating an
  19 account](https://translate.tails.boum.org/accounts/register/)
  20 you can start suggesting translations right away! For more details on
  21 how to get started, make sure to read our [[documentation for

  24 We are specifically looking for translations to a set of
  25 [[languages|/contribute/how/translate/#tier-1-languages]] that we
  26 consider valuable to our user base: Arabic, Farsi, French, German,
  27 Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese,
  28 Spanish, and Turkish.
