  18                 <h3>Quick Search Help</h3><p>The quick search
  19                 functionality is part of the <a href=
  20                 "toolbar.pl">toolbar</a> on top of almost every
  21                 SGN web page. To use it, simply enter a search term
  22                 in the text input box and click on the quick search
  23                 button. The search can take a while depending on
  24                 the actual word you search. Specifically, words
  25                 that appear in many of the blast annotations, such
  26                 'Arabidopsis', will increase search time.</p>

  28                 <p>Quick search performs a series of searches in
  29                 the database and displays a summary page of the
  30                 matches. For each of the searches, a line is
  31                 displayed with information how many entities were
  32                 matched in the database.</p>

  34                 <p>If entities were found in the database, a link
  35                 is provided to complete the actual search. Click on
  36                 that link to see the search results.</p>

  45                   searches on clone, est, unigene and marker

  50                   <dd>The annotation searches search the manual and
  51                   automatic annotation that are available for
  52                   unigenes. They report the number of annotations
  53                   and the number of corresponding unigenes that
  54                   were found. If there are more than 5000
  55                   annotation matches, the number of unigenes is not
  56                   reported to save on querying time.</dd>

  60                   <dd>Searches the last name as a sub-string match
  61                   in the SGN People Directory.</dd>
